Week 1 Game Notes
January 2, 2016
PREMIER 12 – HOOPSTER 7
Team Premier held on after a fierce comeback effort fell short by coach Tyrice Jones and his young Bmore Hoopster’s squad. The Hoopster cut the margin to 1 at 8-7 late in the second half but some clutch free throws down the stretch by J. Prescott sealed the win for Team Premier.
C.J.E. 27 – TEAM R.O.A.R. 14
The Coach Jones Experience (C.J.E.) jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back defeating a short handed Team R.O.A.R. 27-14 in the 2nd match-up of the 10 and under bracket Saturday. C.J.E. was led by J. Griffin 17 pts and J. Tinsley 10 pts.
BLAZERS 47 – BULLS 31
Coach Mike Wilson and his team fought from a 3 point half deficit to completely dominating the second half and pulled out a 47-31 victory over the vising Bulls. The Blazers had a balance scoring attack with A. Burton and Q. Blizzard combining with 21 pts and K. Burson chipping in with 9 pts. The Bulls were led by J. Stevenson with 16 pts and 10 rebounds.
HAWKS 54 – WARRIORS 37
Severely undersized against their opponent the Hawks used great defense and unselfish offensive play to shock the Warriors 54-27 in league play on Saturday. The Hawks led by 10 at the half and never looked back. D.Carter Farley led all scores with 23 and D. Daniels finished with 16 points.
Week 2 Game Notes
January 9, 2016
Train to Win(1-0) 28 – Premier (1-1) 8
Coach Derrick Brooks and his Train to Win Program has established themselves as one of the top young programs in the area. His team led from start to finish for an impressive 28 – 8 victory over the host Premier team. Train to Win used some aggressive defense in the second half causing consecutive turnovers to secure the convincing victory in their season debut.
Team R.O.A.R (1-1) 20 – Hoopsters (0-2) 13
Team R.O.A.R. 10 u traveled north from D.C to Baltimore and used a balance attack to upend a young scrappy Bmore Hoopsters team 20 -13.
Bmore Elite (1-0) 25 – C.J.E. (0 -1) 13
Two tough teams battled in a 10u league match up with Bmore Elite coming away with an impressive 25-13 victory. Bmore Elite never panicked in a nip and tuck game from the tip which saw a young Elite team execute down the stretch to secure a tough win Saturday afternoon.
Premier( 1-0 ) 39 – R.O.A.R (0-2) 19
The host Premier team dominated Team R.O.A.R from start to finish for a convincing 39-19 victory in their match-up Saturday afternoon. Premier was led by C. Scott with 12pts 8 rebs. and 6 assist. T Giles chipped in with 8 pts 8 reb.
BMORE ELITE (2-0) – 44 C.J.E. (0-1) 35
Arguably the best match up of the day, Bmore Elite 12u upended a fierce C.J.E. squad, 44 -35 in their match up Saturday at St. Benedict Gymnasium. Elite held a 26 -18 halftime lead and was able to close out C.J.E. in the second half with some stifling defense and some timely baskets to secure the victory.
Blazers (2-0) 41 – C.J.E. ( 0-1) 31
The host team Blazers got a boost from E. Miles off the bench who knocked down some clutch jumpers in the first half and ended up with a game high 12pts to lead the Blazers over C.J.E. K. Brunson added 13 rebounds in the victory.
Warriors (1-1) 66 – Bulls (0-2) 40
The Warriors bounced back from a disappointing defeat last week to dominate the Bulls in a convincing 66-40 victory over the 0-2 Bulls. The Warriors lead from start to finish and had 4 players reach double figures with J. Evans and C.Scott leading the way with 12 points apiece.

Hoopsters (1-0) 14 – Premier (0-1) 12
The 8u host team Premier lost a close match up against a young talented Bmore Hoopsters team 14-12. The Hoopsters jumped out early to a 6-0 lead and never trailed throughout the contest. A very close game with a valiant comeback effort came up a little short for Premier.
Team R.O.A.R. (2-1) 22 – Premier (1-2) 17
The first 10u contest set the tone for a very competitive day of Basketball for the Premier Basketball Winter Youth League Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Gymnasium. Team R.O.A.R of D.C traveled north to take on the host 10u Premier team and came away with a hard fought 22-17 victory. J. Johnson led Team R.O.A.R with 12pts and 5reb in the win. J Tutuwan added 8pts. K. Fisher led Premier with 8pts.
Baltimore Elite (2-0) 25 – Train To Win (1-1) 18
The 10u Game of the Week featured two high powered programs battling for first place in their division. The match up was as good as advertised with Bmore Elite fighting back from a five point halftime deficit and win 25-18 to take sole possession of first place in the young season. Bmore Elite was led by A. Allen 10 pts and D. Darden added 8pts. K. Carter led Train to Win with 10 pts and 4 steals.
C.J.E. (2-1) 15 – Hoopsters (0 – 3) 13
C.J.E. found themselves in a tough match up Saturday with the Hoopsters but pulled out a 15-13 victory to stay in the hunt for the top spot in the 10u division J Tinsley led C.J.E. with 8pts and an impressive 13 rebound performance in the win.
C.J.E. ( 1-1 ) 47 – R.O.A.R (0-3) 10
A balanced team effort from a talented C.J.E. team proved to be no contest against a struggling Team R.O.A.R 12u team 47-10 in the first game of the 12u Division. C.J.E. will face Premier next week for a chance to knock of the leagues only undefeated team in the division. That match up will be the featured game of the week this Saturday.
Premier (2-0) 35 – Baltimore Elite (2-1) 27
A really competitive match up between two undefeated teams proved to be one of the most entertaining games of the day with the host team Premier coming away with a big victory to secure first place in the division. D. McKenney led Premier with 12pts while D. Medley added 8pts and T. Giles contributed with 7rebs.
C.J.E. (1-1) 27 – Warriors ( 1-2) 24
C.J.E. bounced back from an opening day loss last week to pull out a huge victory over the Warriors in our 16u Game of The Week. A back and forth contest much throughout the game saw C.J.E. get some key defensive stops down the stretch to pull out the victory.
Blazers (3-0) 65 – Hawks (1-1) 48
The Blazers jumped out early and never looked back in a convincing win and battle for first place in a talented 16u division . E. Miles scored 18 pts and K Brunson added 20 pts and 15 rebs. The Blazers stay undefeated and atop the 16u league.

January 30, 2016
Premier (1-1) 12 – Hoopsters (1-1) 4
The host team Premier, had too much firepower for the Hoopsters on Saturday and came out with a 12-4 victory. The win puts the two teams in a tie for first place.
Hoopsters (1-3) 19 – R.O.A.R. (2-2) 13
The Bmore Hoopsters picked up their first win of the season upsetting TEAM R.O.A.R 19-13 in the opening of the 10u games Saturday at St Benedict Gymnasium. The Hoopsters tenacious defense was their key to the victory as they kept their opponent from penetrating and forced tough shots every possession. The Hoopsters Raheim Booth led all scorers with 8pts.
Hoopsters (2-3) 33 – Baltimore Elite (3-1) 29 O.T.
Raheim Booth hit a three pointer to tie the game at 29 and send the game into overtime and then hit two free throws in the overtime period to shock Baltimore Elite in a thriller. The Hoopsters battled back from an 8 point deficit (29- 21) with 4:50
remaining and outscored Elite 13-0 down the stretch to pull off consecutive victories on Saturday. Raheim Booth led all scorers with 11pts.
C.J.E. (3-1) 15 – Train To Win (1 – 2) 14 O.T.
C.J.E. remain atop of the 10u division league with a hard fought 15-14 Overtime win over Train to Win Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Gymnasium. Jermaine Tinsley led all scorers with 10 pts.
Premier ( 3-0 ) 39 – C.J.E. (1-2) 14
The host, Team Premier remains undefeated in the 12u Division with an impressive 39-14 victory over C.J.E. Premier pushed a four point halftime lead to double figures early in the second with some hot shooting from Dion Dorsey, who led all scorers with 20 pts on the day. After being beat severely in the rebounding department in the first half, Premier’s defense held C.J. E to two second half points in route to its 3rd consecutive victory and the top spot in the division..
Baltimore Elite (3-1) 52 – R.O.A.R. (0-4) 22
A balanced scoring attack and a great defensive effort proved to be the recipe for victory for Coach Bub Carrington and his Bmore Elite squad, as they convincingly handle Team R.O.A.R 52-22. Two players for Elite scored 13 pts in their win.
Hawks (2-1) 58 – C.J.E. ( 1-2) 34
The offensive fire power from a young talented Hawks team dominated C.J.E Saturday in a 16u league match up at St Benedict Catholic Gymnasium. D.Daniels and J. Walker combined for 44 pts to lead the way for the Hawks.
Blazers (4-0) 65 – Bulls (0-3) 48
The Blazers remain the only undefeated team in the 16u Bracket with a huge victory over the Bulls 65-48. A. Burton hit 5 three pointers for 15 pts in the victory.

Hoopsters (2-1) 10 – Premier (1-2) 8
The Hoopsters 8u team jumped out early on Premier and held on to win 10-8.
Train To Win (2-2) 21 – Hoopsters (2-4) 17
Train To Win (TTW) stayed in the hunt for the top spot in the division, defeating the Hoopsters 21-17 in a hard fought match-up Saturday morning at St Benedict Catholic Gymnasium. TTW maintained a 3 point halftime lead in the second by converting their layups and hitting some key free throws. TTW is a game and a half back of Bmore Elite for the top spot.
Baltimore Elite (4-1) 31 – Team R.O.A.R. (2-2) 12
The top team in the 10u division, Bmore Elite showed why they are the top dogs by dominating team R.O.A.R and securing a 31-12 victory. Carlton Carrington Jr. led Elite in scoring with 10 pts. Amir Allen added 8pts to the win.
C.J.E. (3-2) 17 – Premier (1 – 4) 16
C.J.E. 10u remains in the hunt with a hard fought 17-16 win Saturday afternoon at St Benedict Catholic Gymnasium. R. Hasselberger led C.J.E with 9 pts and D. Woodson contributed with some key points in the second half of this league battle. Premier was led by D. Jackson with 7 pts.
Premier ( 4-0 ) 39 – R.O.A.R. (0-5) 14
D. Highsmith scored 12 pts and T. Giles scored 11pts to lead an undefeated 12u Premier team Saturday afternoon at St Benedict Catholic Gymnasium against team R.O.A.R .
Baltimore Elite (4-1) 42 – C.J.E. (2-2) 33
A battle between two top programs, and arguably the most entertaining of the day ended with Bmore Elite coming away with a 42 -33 victory over C.J.E. D. Williams big second half proved to be the difference in the game.
Hawks (3-1) 42 – Blazers ( 4-1) 20
To much firepower from a loaded Hawks team, took down the once undefeated Blazers with a convincing 42 -20 victory and a share of first place in their division. The Hawks showcased a balanced scoring attack led by D. Farley with 16pts. D. Daniels and J Walker finished with 11 and 8 respectively.
Warriors (2-2) 36 – Bulls (0-4) 33
The Warriors and Bulls battled from start to finish with the Warriors prevailing 36 -33 @ St Benedict Catholic Gymnasium Saturday afternoon in the 16u finale. M. Hocker led the Warriors with 14pts. A. Morrow led the winless Bulls with 10.
Week 6 Game Notes
February 13, 2016
Hoopsters 14 – Premier 7
The Hoopsters 8u team jumped out to a 7-0 lead and never looked back as they rolled past Premier 14-7 in our opening league game at St. Benedict Catholic Gymnasium. D. Knight led the Hoopsters with 8pts.
Premier 23 – Hoopsters 17
D. Smith scored a game high 9 pts and J. Griffith scored 8 to lead Premier to a 23-17 win over the Hoopsters in a battle for playoff seeding in their division.
C.J.E. 26 – Team R.O.A.R. 12
C.J.E took a four point halftime lead in the locker room and returned with a burst of energy to knock of team R.O.A.R in a league match-up Saturday morning at St Benedict Catholic Gymnasium. C.J.E was led by R Hasselberger with 9pts.
Bmore Elite 41 – Premier 40
A classic battle between the top two teams in their division went into overtime with Bmore Elite’s K. Smith sinking a shot from 25ft beyond the left arc as time expired, to shock the once undefeated team Premier. D. Williams led Elite with 12pts and C. Carrington added 10.
C.J.E. 43 – R.O.A.R. 17
C.J.E. dominated from the tap and came away with another victory in the 12u Division. K. Ray led a balanced scoring attack with 16pts.
Hawks 37 – Bulls 33
D. Carter Farley led all scorers with 15 and D. Daniels added to 11 to lead the Hawks past the Bulls in the A 16u match-up Saturday afternoon at St Benedict Catholic Gymnasium. The Bulls were in the game throughout the contest but came up short and remain winless on the season.
